When you think of camping, I’m sure you've already associated it with summer days, bug bites, sunburns and hot sticky nights by the campfire.
Being eaten alive by bugs and dripping sweat can be frustrating enough, let alone remembering everything you need for a proper camp setup. It can feel time-consuming and expensive.
What if you could combine the beautiful and peaceful outdoor world while still coming home to a warm comfy bed - without ever leaving the park? The best part? No mosquitos.
Here are 6 reasons we believe Glamping with Timberline is the perfect winter getaway for both families and friend groups alike.

Affordable Prices
Let's be honest. Accommodation is no longer nearly as affordable as it used to be. Staying in hotels, Air BnBs or other similar establishments is consistently becoming more and more expensive.
Between high prices and cramped living areas, it's no wonder it's becoming increasingly more difficult to plan trips that can accommodate larger groups and families.
With the title "glamping" attached to the name we were shocked to realize how much we actually saved in comparison to a typical camping experience.
The tents provided by Timberline are incredibly spacious. We had room to play games on the floor, lounge around and plenty of space for all our bags. The biggest perk, of course, being the tent was cheaper to rent than a majority of hotels in the nearby area.
Additional cost savers include transportation to the park, parking fees, and daily park entry - all included in the glamping experience!
Provided Set Up/Minimal Packing
From tents to canopies, cots to coolers and everything in between there is a lot of packing and planning that goes into making sure you have everything you need to stay for a couple nights in the woods comfortably.
Although professional campers may have mastered the art of "Tetris" while packing their cars, limited car space can be a bit overwhelming for families and friend groups trying to make sure they don't leave anything important behind.
When you camp with Timberline Glamping your entire setup is already provided! The tents are pitched and elevated off the cold ground, and heaters are provided inside along with lots comfy fleece blankets to keep the extra chilly nights at bay. (Although during our stay the tent was so warm we even had to turn down the heater one night!)
With bedding, rugs, chairs, tables, electric outlets, fans, a Keurig and even a mini fridge provided, all you have to pack is your food, clothes and personal items.
We were very pleased to come in after a long day of driving to the warm glow of porch lights welcoming us in!
A Good Night's Sleep
One of the worst things about camping is choosing between rolling around on the hard ground with a sleeping mat and bag, or waking up laying on top of another person because your air mattress was deflating all night long.
The provided beds inside the Timberline tents were comfier than most hotel beds we’ve stayed in. Not to mention the King sized bed offered plenty of space for our entire group to hang out on once we were too cold to sit by the fire.
Fresh Food and Cold Drinks
As a frequent camper one of the biggest expenses is almost always food. Even if you come well prepared, reloading your coolers with ice every day is not only a nuisance but can be costly, especially if you account for the food that gets waterlogged that you have to throw away.
Winter temperatures kept our beverages nice and chilly outside on our front porch, and we were able to keep items more likely to turn such as cheese and meat inside the mini fridge provided inside the tent.
The Keurig was an unexpected bonus, not only just for providing warm coffee in the morning, but it made it exceptionally easy to heat up water when we didn’t want to start an entire fire to boil noodles or make tea in the evening.
Don't forget to store food items in tubs if kept outside so the squirrels and crows don't enjoy your breakfast before you have a chance to!
Additional Amenity Options
As if everything above didn’t already convince you to plan a trip, Timberline definitely puts the “glamorous” in glamping with the cutest decor throughout the tent and twinkling lights outside to welcome you home in the evening.
For an additional charge you can have k-cups, smores kits, cornhole boards and more specialty add-ons delivered directly to your campsite. Check your location's direct website for a complete list of all amenities available during your stay.
The seasonally themed charcuterie board exceeded our expectations and was a perfect snacking option for our entire group. We definitely recommend ordering one for your campsite. You won’t be disappointed!
Multiple Locations
Although we have a soft spot in our heart for the Timberline Cheaha location in Alabama, (I mean look at those views) if it’s just a bit too far of a drive or you want a new experience while having the same comforts, Timberline offers all the incredible amenities in 22 different state parks across 4 states.
Whether you prefer the woodlands of Kingston Downs, Alabama, want to stargaze in Kissimmee, Florida, or prefer to spend your days fishing and kayaking on the Riverfront in Williamsburg, Virginia, Timberline has the perfect location for whatever type of outdoor adventure you choose.
Timberline Glamping offers all the amenities and comforts of home while combining the fun of sitting around a campsite and exploring the outdoors with close friends and families. As far as budget vacations go, we can not talk more highly of everything that Timberline was able to offer without price gouging; and we're definitely excited to start planning our next trip!
